Save Half Day and Rebuild Hurricane Campaign

North Conway is home to some of the best public mountain biking with the most vertical descent in New England and we need your help to continue the progress!

Half Day

Our top priority is rebuilding Half Day. Half Day is a steep and fast descent located on the picturesque Cathedral Ledge. Because of trail degradation, the trail is in danger of being shut down. Ride NoCo, IdeRide, and the USFS have been working together to make the adjustments needed to improve the trail, securing its future.

This project will focus on keeping the natural, tight feel of the existing trail and will be a handwork-only build by the IdeRide crew. Run by Knight Ide, IdeRide is known for his work across the country but, most importantly, for his work in his hometown of East Burke, Vermont. The rework will greatly improve the sustainability of the trail in the long term as well as the fun! We’ve done the work of securing land permissions and the USFS has graciously contributed a $15,000 grant. We have already received generous community support, but we need a total of $10,000 to make this project a reality!

More info about this project on our ridenoco.org/projects. Check out IdeRide's amazing portfolio of trails!

Upper Hurricane Rebuild

Upper Hurricane needs attention. Our goal is to rebuild the upper approximate 1/2 mile of Hurricane Trail by machine to match the flow and style of the lower portion of the trail. The work will be done by Tulip Trails, the creators of our newest flow trail, Tornado. Check out Tulip Trails' portfolio! We need an additional $10,000 to make this project a reality this year.

We thank you so much for your help and can't wait to see you out on the trails this spring!

Ride NoCo (White Mountain Bike Coalition) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and all donations are tax-deductible.

Giving Tuesday

This year your generous support helped us open our newest trail, Tornado, install map kiosks and trail signage, and maintain our established trails. We have several exciting projects under development, stay tuned for the upcoming announcement of our 5 year plan and please consider donating to Ride NoCo this Giving Tuesday!

Announcing New Trail Names

We are excited to announce new names for trails so many have been enjoying in the Hurricane Mountain Zone. Names are officially posted on TrailForks and look for new kiosk maps and trail signs this spring when the HMZ opens for riding.

Surf’s Up - formerly referred to as Knight’s / New Cranmore Connector - this trail leads to Kettle Ridge, Kandagnar and Charlie’s.

Tornado - formerly referred to as Trail 2 - this trail is brand new and machine work was completed at the very end of the 2021 riding season. Hand trail work is needed before this new trail officially opens for spring riding in 2022. Access it on Kettle Ridge at the intersection of Sendero.

Hurricane Highway - formerly referred to as Lower Flank Trail - runs from the base of Cranmore Mountain Resort up to the junction of Kettle Ridge.

We’re getting ready for an eventful 2022 season with new trails, events and trail work opportunities. Sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of our website to get the latest details as they come out and follow us on Instagram @ridenoco or Facebook Ride NoCo.

As always, please consider donating to our trails as we continue to expand and joining as an annual member.
