Mike leblanc

Mike’s day job is the executive director and head coach of the Mount Washington Valley Alpine Education Foundation. He is originally from Plymouth NH and grew up riding and building trails in the White Mountains.

Mike has been involved with trail building throughout New England including Diamond Hill and Lincoln Woods State Parks in Rhode Island while working at Brown University for several years. When Mike moved his family back to New Hampshire in 2016, he immediately became involved in local trail building projects in the MWV where he has been plugging away since. Mike has two young boys who are also crazy about skis and bikes.

Stephan Becker, President

Stephan is a Maine native who has been mountain biking in the valley for years, and has called it home since 2021. Trained as an engineer, he now spends his time working as a custom builder. Stephan assists with all aspects of Ride NoCo from trail building to designing jerseys. He is also the resident fat bike trail groomer, so you will find him on the trails year round.

Phil Ostroski, treasurer

Phil is a MWV Home Grown retired math teacher and department head at Kennett High School and Ski School Director at Wildcat. He now splits his time between Intervale and Girwood, Alaska.

Phil began mountain biking in the early 1990s after his previous passion, ultra-running, took its toll on his body. He was instrumental in forming the the KHS Mountain Bike Team in 1998 and brought Crank the Kanc from the dead in 1999 as a fundraiser for the bike team. He have been paying the bills and serving on local boards for ski and bike nonprofits since the late 70’s.

Amanda schweizer, Vice President

Amanda works as a primary care PA. She loves to explore the country via mountain bike but thinks the Mount Washington Valley, especially the Hurricane Zone trails, is a special place and is psyched to be a part of the community. When not biking, you will find her maple sugaring and tending to her chickens, honey bees, veggie garden, and old hound dog.

Stefan Karnopp

Stefan is a native to the Valley and can often be found riding the Hurricane zone chasing his son Reed, who is way faster than him now! He is also a board member for the Eastern Slope Ski Club (ESSC) and the Red Parka Challenge Cup, both of which work to get all the local school kids out on the snow each week during winter. Stefan works as a Realtor with Black Bear Realty and has been stoked to help clients moving here specifically for the mountain biking!

Corbett Tulip

Corbett was born and raised in North Conway and recently returned to the Valley to raise his family. He’s been riding and building in the Hurricane Zone since before he could drive. Corbett turned his passion for trail building into a career and has helped build some of New Hampshire’s most unique and well-known mountain bike destinations including Highland Mountain Bike Park and Green Woodlands. In 2020, he started his own business, Tulip Trails, where he continues to design and build trails across New England. His favorite rides are steep natural hike-a-bikes, but he is also dedicated to developing more inclusive kid-friendly trails to the Valley. Keep an eye out for his three daughters tearing around North Conway on their bikes!

Henry Eckerson

Henry began mountain biking at an early age in Massachusetts and could never seem to find a long enough descent or a big enough jump. After attending St. Lawrence University in upstate New York, he moved to Bozeman, Montana, and then to the coast of Maine. He began riding in the Hurricane Mountain Zone in 2018 and quickly fell in love with its steep, technical terrain and limitless potential. Henry is a policy writer for the state of Maine and a resident of Fryeburg. When he's not riding a bike, he's likely hiking his bike.
